A record of the last 20 sending and recoiving transactions. The
timer can be s€t to print out this report at the same time every day.
Record of documents sent and received. Each report includos date
and time ol transaction, nam€ and telephone number of the
sending or receiving party, and number of document pages. The
fax can be set up to print out activity reports every time it sends or
receives a document.
Vvhen the remote fax is busy or does not answer, or when an error
occurs when sonding, the fax waits 2 minutes and then
automatically rodials the samo number. lf there is still no answer, it
makes 1 more attempt after waiting for 2 minutes.
Dialing numbers at th€ press of one or a low keys. To use
automatic dialing, you must register the fax numbers. \Mth this fax
you have two methods of automatic dialing available : One- touch
dialing and Coded speed dialing.
Switch to automatic receiving when you are out of the office or not
using the lax as a telephone. Wtren the AUTO lamp is on and tho
FAVTEL switch is OFF, the fax is in tho automatic receiving mode.
Even if paper runs out, the fax automatically stores any documents
it rocoives in the m€mory.
The print head prints every time it makes a pass across the page in
both directions. Because bidirectional printing prints every time it
moves across the page, it is much {aster than unidirectional
p r i n t i n g .
Stands for blts per second.
Canon's patented ink iet technology which uses an ink cartridge
containing 64 nozzles that shoot ink onto th€ paper about 30OO
times per second. The ink in the nozzls is heated to lorm a bubble
which {orces the ink out of the nozzle. This system is fast, quiet'
and produces highquality, high resolution documents.
Stands lor calting tono. This is a signal sent with facsimile
transmissions to idsntify tho call as an incoming document. When
the receiving fax dotects this signal, it automatically starts to
receive the tacsimile transmission. The maiority of facsimile
machines in use today can send and detect CNG signals.
However, if the sender dials manually, or if the document as sent
from a fax that cannot send a CNG signal, to receive the document
the receiver will have to answer the fax manually' press the start
key after they hear the tono on the handset, and then hang up the
handset. One-touch and Coded speed dial on your fax always
send this CNG signal when you send a lacsimile transmission. l{
you pick up the handset and dial manually to send a document,
this signal is not sent and the receiver will have to receive manually.
Lets you dial up to 30 {acsimile numbers at the touch o{ 3 keys.
Each number can be up to 38 digits long.
The underline symbol you see in the one-line display when you
register numbers and names in the lax. To move the cursor press
