Tachometer unit

The electric tachometer allows the rider
to monitor the engine speed and keep it
within the ideal power range.
CAUTION:
_
Do not operate the engine in the ta-
chometer red zone.
Red zone: 8,000 r/min and above
_
This tachometer unit is equipped with a
clock.
To set the clock:
1. Push both the "SELECT" and
"RESET" buttons for at least two
seconds.
2. When the hour digits start flashing,
push the "RESET" button to set
the hours.
3. Push the "SELECT" button to
change the minutes.
4. When the minute digits start flash-
ing, push the "RESET" button to
set the minutes.

5. Push the "SELECT" button to start
the clock.
NOTE:

After setting the clock, be sure to

push the "SELECT" button before
turning the key to "OFF", other-
wise the clock will not be set.

When the key is turned to "OFF",
the clock display will remain on for
48 hours and then go off to pre-
vent the battery from discharging.

Coolant temperature gauge
With the key in the "ON" position, the
coolant temperature gauge indicates
the temperature of the coolant. The
coolant temperature varies with chang-
es in the weather and engine load. If
the needle reaches or enters the red
zone, stop the motorcycle and let the
engine cool. (See page 6-44 for further
instructions.)
CAUTION:

Do not operate the engine if it is
overheated.
