the user's own program to take advantage of the many features which the
Silicon Labs SI4735 IC can implement.
2. The program which is pre-loaded on the PIC18F2550 was written in C .
The user may prefer to write their own program using another language,
such as BASIC. The In-Circuit programming Header makes it easy to
upload the user's own program without having to remove the PIC18F2550.
3. SPECIAL NOTE: If you wish to retain the original factory
control program which comes preloaded on the PIC18LF2550,
you should purchase an additional PIC18LF2550 IC and replace
the existing microcontroller IC. You can then experiment by
uploading your own program, while retaining the option to
reinstall the original PIC18LF2550 should you wish to return to
the original factory program. The PIC18F2550 can be
purchased from electronics distributors such as Mouser,
Digikey and Allied.
4. The In-Circuit Programming Header is based on Microchip's standard In-
Circuit programmer protocol and can be programmed with the readily
available Pickit 2 programmer. (Figure 28)

5. Although the PIC18F2550 is not removed from the circuit during
programming, it is necessary to remove the LCD display before
uploading a new program.
