Figure 11
If you do not have a breadboard, take care that the male headers are soldered to the PCB
sub-assemblies such that the headers are perpendicular to the PCB sub-assemblies.
3. Familiarize yourself with the location of Pin 1 of each of the PCB sub-assemblies.
Pin 1 is labeled on each PCB sub-assembly. In addition, the actual IC chips have
a small dot or circle in the corner of the chip that corresponds to Pin 1. It is
important to note the location of Pin 1 because the PCB sub-
assemblies must be oriented correctly on the main PCB when the sub-
assemblies are soldered to the main PCB.
4. While observing proper ESD procedures (see Special Note above) insert the
SI4735 PCB sub-assembly on the main PCB. (Figure12) The SI4735 PCB sub-
assembly is oriented with Pin 1 on the right hand top side of the PCB
sub-assembly. It may be helpful to use a piece of blue painter's masking tape
to temporarily hold the PCB sub-assembly in place for soldering. Then, turn the
main PCB over and apply flux on each of the pins of the PCB sub-assembly where
it protrudes through the solder hole and solder each pin.
