TROUBLESHOOTING

If your CB is not working as it should,
refer to the following charts to see if
you can eliminate the problem. If you
cannot, take the CB to your local
Radio Shack store. DO NOT attempt
repairs or adjustments yourself.
Symptom: Trouble with reception
Check
Insufficient vol- Adjust VOLUME
ume? as needed.
Too much Adjust SQUELCH
squelch? as needed.
CB not on oper- Switch to active
ating channel? channel.
Microphone Connect micro-
connected? phone.
Antenna con- Secure connec-
nections? tions.
RF gain too Adjust RF GAIN
low? as needed.
Press CH9 again.
Channel 9
locked?

Symptom: Trouble with transmis-
sion

Solution
Antenna not
fully extended?
Connectors cor-
roded?
Talk button not
fully pressed?
Microphone

Symptom: CB does not work at all

Fuse in the DC
power lead

Check Solution
Secure antenna
connector.
Extend to full
length.
Clean and
tighten.
Press com-
pletely. Hold
down button
while speaking.
Firmly press in
jack.
Check Solution
Secure connec-
tions to a live
source.
Replace with
identical fuse.
