Serial Port Interrupts

The interrupts for serial port 1 and serial port 2 (if installed) are given in the following table.
Any interrupts used for the built-in serial ports are not available for ISA parallel ports. Also, if
serial ports share an interrupt, verify that hardware and software added to the system can share
these interrupts without problems.

Jumper Settings

Jumpers on the boards and devices in the system are used to set the system configuration.
Boards and devices using jumpers include:
system board

hard drive

CD-ROM drive.

The following paragraphs list the jumpers and their factory settings.

System Board Jumper Settings

The system board has six jumper blocks, as shown on the following figure. Jumper locations are
provided in the following figure. The tables following the figure provide detailed information on
jumper settings and functions.
Only change or check the appropriate jumper settings. Otherwise, keep the jumpers at their
factory settings.
