5. Placing Originals

Placing Originals on the Glass

Different methods are used to place the original depending on its type. Use the procedure appropriate for
your original. If you are using a Document Feeder, see p. 2-19
Sheet Originals

feeder>
Raise the Original Cover or Document

Feeder and place the original face down on
the glass.
2 Align the rear right corner of the original
with the marker on the Width Scale of the
original glass.
Gently lower the Original Cover or

Document Feeder.
Highly Transparent Originals
<Using transparencies and translucent paper for
the original>
Place the original in the same way as the

sheet originals.
Place a blank white sheet of paper of the

same size over the original.
