Your interface cable does not
meet both the printer and
computer specifications.
Your software is not properly
set up for your printer.
Nothing prints and the control panel lights are on or flashing.
Cause
Several common printer
errors have occured at once.
The printer sounds like it is printing, but nothing prints.
Cause
The print head nozzles are
clogged.
One or both of the ink
cartridges have been used
longer than six months or
beyond the date on the
packaging.
Use an interface cable that meets both
printer and computer specifications.
See ''Connecting the Printer to Your
PC'' or ''Connecting the Printer to
Your Macintosh'' in Chapter 2. Also
see ''Interface Specifications'' in
Appendix B.
Make sure that your printer is
properly selected in your software.
Install or reinstall the printer software
as described in Chapter 2.
What to do
Use the table in ''Error indicators''
on page 8-3 to determine what
combination of errors may have
occurred, and apply the recommended
solutions.

Clean the print head. See ''Cleaning
the Print Head'' on page 8-26.
If this does not work after four or five
trials, see below.
Try cleaning the print head. If that
does not solve the problem, replace
the ink cartridges as described on page
8-30.
