    Must include a shutoff valve: An individual shutoff valve must be installed within six (6) feet (1.8 m) of the laundry center in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1. The location should be easy to reach for opening and closing..

    Exhaust hood must be at least 12 in. (30.5 cm) from the ground or any object that may be in the path of the exhaust (such as flowers, rocks or bushes, etc.). If using an existing vent system, clean lint from the entire length of the system and make sure exhaust hood is not plugged with lint.
