The LAN PORT MENU allows the management of the port's state, path cost, and priority. The display of the STP port
status for the port is available through this Menu.

State - Option 1

Toggles between Enabling and Disabling of the Spanning Tree Protocol for the port.
Considerations:
When the port is [enabled] the states are reported as either Listen(ing), Learn(ing), Forward(ing) or
Block(ing) in the Show Port, Option 4, display. If the port is disconnected, "Disabled" is shown in the
Show Port, Option 4, display (even if the state is enabled).
When the port is [disabled], it does not participate in frame relay or the learning process. Also, when
[disabled] the port is not included in the STP topology calculations and will not be activated by the STP
should it be needed to take over from a failed bridge.
