-Ifyou are u sing abattery pack recommended by Canon for u se with this camcorder, there
may be aproblem with the c amcorder or b attery pack. Consult aCanon Service Center.
A noise can b e heard from t he c ompact power adapter.
-A faint sound can be heard while the c ompact power adapter is connected to apower outlet.
This is not amalfunction.
The battery
pack is exhausted extremely quickly even at normal temperatures.
- The battery may have reachedthe end of its battery life. Buy a new battery pack=
Recording
Pressing IsT, KRT/sToPI
Will not start recording.
- Youcannot record while the camcorder is writing previousrecordings onto the memory(while
the ACCESS indicator is on or flashing). Wait until the camcorder has finished.
- The memory is full or it alreadycontains the maximum number of scenes of AVCHDmovies
(3,999 scenes). Delete somerecordings (_ 56, 58)or initialize the memory (_ 33) to free
some space,
- The file numbers for MP4 moviesand photos have reachedtheir maximum value. Set _"
_ _ @ [File Numbering] to [Reset] and insert a new memorycard,
The point where
START/SToP was
pressed does not match the beginning/end of the
recording.
- There is a slight interval between pressing
START/SToP
and the actual start!end of record-
ing. This is not a malfunction.
Thecamcorder will not focus.
- Autofocus doesnot work on the subject. Focus manually(C[3 80).
- The lens is dirty. Cleanthe lens with a soft lens-cleaning cloth (C[_ 179). Never usetissue
paper to clean the lens.
When a subject flits across in front of the lens, the image appears slightly bent.
- This is a phenomenontypical of CMOSimage sensors. Whena subject crosses very quickly in
front of the camcorder, the image may seem slightly warped. This is not a malfunction.
Changing the operatingmode between recording (O)/record pause (®||)/playback (_)
takes longer than usual.
- Whenthe memory contains a large number of scenes, someoperations may take longer than
usual. Save your recordings(C[_ 111) and initialize the memory (C[_ 33).
Movies or photos cannot be recorded properly.
- This may occur as movies and photos are recorded/deleted overtime. Saveyour recordings
(C[_ 111) and initialize the memory using the [Complete Initialization] option (C[_ 33).
Cannot record a photowhile recording movies.
- Youcannot take photos in mode or while fading in or fading out a scene (C[_ 78).
