Overflow Standpipe and
DrainLineInstallation
I. Install overflowdrain bushingin bottom of
cooler,
2. Screw overflowstandpipe into drain bushingand
tightensnuglyto prevent leakage.
3. Slide rubber washer over drain bushing,push
drain bushing through bouom of cooler, and
tightennut.
4. Connect (copper/pvc/garden hose) to drain
bushingand drain in accordance to local codes
(see Figure 12).

Connect Water Supply
Awatervalveshouldbe installed at a convenient
location to allowthe watersupplyto be turnedon
and off(see Figure14); 1/4"tubing is usedto
provide waterto the cooler.Awaterconnectorkit,
available f romyourdealer,provides t he necessary
items.
l. Remove 7/16"knock-out f romcornerleg.
2. Insertend oftubingthroughthisopening.
3. Plaee tubenutand ferruleoverend oftubing.
4. Install floatvalvethroughbracketprovided.
5. Inserttubeintofloatvalve and tighten to secure.
Note:Soft waterequipmentshouldnot be
attachedto any waterlines goingto a cooler

InstallBleed-Off
Ableed-offsystemhas been provided withyour cooler.
Its purpose is to eliminate a small quantityof water from
recirculation; this reduces scale build-up. This bleed-off
assemblymerelyrequires inserting the bleed-offhose
into the pump assembly and routing bleed-line hose
through standpipe opening.
1. Installbleed-line intopumpassembly bleed-off tap.
2. Routefar endof bleed-line into standpipe.
3. Installclampwithscrewon bleed-hne.
4. Adjust s crewto obtainflowrateforappropriate
modelindicated in tableat right.

Adjusting W aterLeveland FloatValve
Fillreservoir as follows:
1. Torn water supplyon. Checkfor good
pressure and flowfrom float valve.
2. When float valveshuts off, check water level.
Waterlevelshould be from 1/2"to 1" below
top edge of overflowstandpipe.
3. Torn on water and adjust float valveby
bending the rod (see Figure 15).

GENERAL
INSPECTION
Start-Up I nspection
Beforestarting the cooler motorand pump to check
out operation,make sure all installationsand
adjustmentshave been properlyand thoroughly
made. Assurethat:
• Cooler mountingis level; duet is sealed.
• Cabinet is securely fastened to mounting.
• Coolercabinet is grounded.Electrical
connectionsare safeand secure.
• Motor,pump,end float installed. Motorend
pumpplugged intojunctionbox (on window
models, theyare factory-wired).
• Pumpimpellertoms freely.Removepump end
basket.Removeimpeller cover (see illustration
on page 6) and spin the impellerto assure free
rotation.
• Waterlines connectedsecurely withoutleaks.
Water supplyturned on.
• Floatadjustedfor properwaterlevel.
• Blower,shaft,collar,and pulley set bolts are
snug (do not ovet_ightenpulley bolt).
• Pulleyalignmentokay; belt tension okay(see
page 3 and 4 for instructions).
• Blowerbearingsare lubricated.Fill oil cupwith
a good grade SAE20Wor 30Woil.
• Padspresoakedend correctlyinstalled.
• Allfree aspen fibers are removed from boUom
pan to preventblockageof water distribution.
• Trimcontsol switchto PUMP ONLY position.
Checkto see that pump startsend thatwater
flowsevenlythrough all distributionoutlets.
Start-UpCheckList
Tocheckoutinstallation, an initialsturt-up
procedure shouldbefollowed:
I. Turn electrical supplyon.
2. Turn controlswitch to PUMP ONLY position.
Check to see that pumpstarts and pads are
evenlywet.
3. Openwindowsor vents in house.
4. Startblowerbyswitchingto COOL.
5. Check for cool air delivery.(Note:an aromaof
dampwoodwill be present duringinitial use of
newpads.)

Cabinet Inspection Check List
1. Checkfor leaks.
2. Checkto see that the cooler and troughsare
level.
3. Checkcooler pads forunevenwettingor open
spots.
4. Checkwaterlevel (see page 4).
5. Checkwulerdistribution systemfor lull even
flow.
6. Makesure trough openingsare unclogged.
7. Rotateblowerwheel for free movement,Align
belt (see page 3).
8. Checkbelt tension and condition.
9. Checkthat set screws and nuts on pulleys,
blowerwheel end collars are tight.
