Digital zoom

The position of the "
" indicator on the
zoom bar shows the zooming status.
The area to the right of the separator
indicates digital zooming, while the area
to the left indicates optical zooming.

✽ How to use the SET-UP menu (➡P.72)
To adjust LCD monitor brightness:
1 Press "d" or "c" to adjust the LCD monitor
brightness.
2 Press the "MENU/OK" button to confirm the new
setting.
Use this function to control the digital zoom.
When zooming changes between optical and
digital, the position of the "■" indicator stops. Press
the same Zoom button again to start the "■ "
indicator moving again.

If the shot goes out of focus during zooming, hold the shutter
button down halfway to refocus the shot.

Using the digital zoom allows you to enlarge your
subject and shoot it. However, it will lower your
image quality. Set the digital zoom when requiring it.

When this function is enabled and the camera
remains unused for 2 or 5 minutes, it is turned off.
Auto power off function prevents leaving the power
on.

The Auto power off function is disabled during High-speed
shooting and Automatic playing back, and when a USB
connection is being used.
When the Auto power off function (2 or 5 minutes
setting) has shut the camera down:
1 Close the lens cover briefly.
2 Re-open the lens cover completely.
To play back images:
1 Close the lens cover until it stops.

2 Hold down the "
" button for about 1 second.
When this function is enabled, you can save power
and get the maximum possible running time from
your battery.
The LCD monitor darkens when camera is not used
for 10 seconds.
!
The LCD power save function is disabled in High-speed
shooting mode and movie mode.
When the LCD monitor is dark, pressing the shutter
button down halfway recovers the LCD monitor
brightness.

Pressing any other button as well as the shutter button wakes
the camera up.
