Mode
This section describes how to take pictures in a
(auto) mode.
Turn the camera on.
Press the ON/OFF button to turn the camera
on.
%.Tip:Intelligent Face Detection
The first time the camera is turned on, Intelligent
FaceDetection is automatically activated and the
camera is optimized for taking portrait photo-
graphs. For more information on using Intelligent
Face Detection, see page 20.

Select I_ mode,
Rotate the mode dial to I_.

Check the battery
level,
Check the battery level in the monitor.

Description
Battery partially discharged.
Battery more than half discharged.
Low battery. Charge assoon as pos-
sible.
Battery exhausted. Turn camera off
and charge battery.
