    Intelligent Face Detection Intelligent Face Detection allows the camera to automatically detect human faces and set focus and exposure for a face anywhere in the frame for shots that emphasize portrait subjects.     Macro Mode (Close-ups) For close-ups, press the selector left (_). When macro mode is in effect, the camera focuses on subjects near the center of the monitor.     Using the Flash Use the flash when lighting is poor, for example when shooting at night or indoors under low light. To choose a flash mode, press the selector right (_,). The flash mode changes each time the selector is pressed; in modes other than AUTO, the current mode is indicated by an icon in the monitor.

    dP Using the Self-Timer The camera offers a ten-second and a two-second timer that can be used to avoid blur caused bythe camera moving when the shutter button is pressed.     Shooting Mode Choose a shooting mode according to the scene or type of subject. To choose a shooting mode, rotate the mode dial to the desired setting. The following modes are available: AUTO Choose for crisp, clear snapshots (pg. 14). This mode is recommended in most situations.

    Playback Options To view the most recent picture in the monitor, press the [] button for about a second. Pressthe selector right to view pictures in the order recorded, left to view pic- tures in reverse order. Keep the selector pressed to scroll rapidly to the desired frame.

    Select [€] to zoom in the picture currently dis- played full frame in the monitor; zoom out. When the picture is zoomed selector can be used to view areas of the image not currently visible in the display. Zoom indicator PressDISP/BACK to exit zoom.
