Adding the Printer

When you are finished installing a PPD file, configure it on your print driver and add the
printer to the [Printer List] window.
The print driver controls the printer's features based on the information stored in the
PPD file.

If using the USB port, perform the following.
If you are not using the USB port, proceed to Step 2.
1) If a USB cable is connected to your printer, disconnect it.
2) Make sure that your computer is switched on and switch the printer off.
3) Connect your computer and the printer with a USB cable.
4) Switch the printer on.

Check the port status of the printer.
- When using IP Printing, set the LPD port to [Enable].
- When using USB, set the USB port to [Enable].
NOTE: Refer to the User Guide on how to enable each port.

Start [Printer Setup Utility].
NOTE: [Printer Setup Utility] is in the "Utilities" folder under the "Applications"
folder.
The [Printer List] window appears.
4.
Click [Add].
5.
Select the protocol you want to use to connect to the printer.
