Record from external devices
C
Turn off the recorder to standby mode.
The recorder will begin recording
when it detects a signal from the Satellite
Receiver.
Helpful Hint:
– When automatic satellite recording
coincides with the recorder's timer
programming, the recorder's scheduled timer
recording occurs instead.
Recording from a DV
camcorder
You can record footage from your DV
camcorder when you connect it to the
DV IN socket of the recorder.
Before you start...
Mark the contents in the Time Shift
Buffer which you wish to record to the
hard disk. All content will be cleared
once you switch to DV IN mode.
A
Turn on the TV to the correct viewing
channel for the recorder.
B
Connect the Digital Video or Digital 8
camcorder to the DV IN socket on the
front panel.
C
Press CAM twice on the remote control
The recorder switches to DV IN
mode. All the content in the Time Shift
Buffer will be cleared.
D
Turn on the DV camcorder and locate
the content where you want the
recording to begin. Pause playback on the
external device.
E
Press RECORD z to start recording.

Select the preferred recording medium:
{ HDD } or { DVD }.
Note: If you have selected { DVD },
insert a recordable DVD into the DVD
recorder.
G
Start playback on the DV camcorder.
To pause the recording, press PLAY/
PAUSE u. To continue recording,
press u again.
H
To stop the recording, press STOP x.
A new title will be saved.
I
To exit, press TUNER.
Helpful Hints:
– Some camcorders cannot be controlled by
the on-screen DV control buttons.
– It is not possible to record both PAL and
NTSC video format recordings on the same
recordable DVD.
