AXWire File Building

The NEW menu option screen is where you begin documentation for any new Axcess system
installation.
Wiring and cabling documentation details can be as simple or as detailed as you need them to be.
The usefulness of the final documentation is totally within your control.
1. Load and run the AXWire program. A startup screen will appear.
2. Press the F1 key to select one of the File menu options.
3. Use the down arrow to move the highlight bar to the NEW menu option, and press Enter. The
screen changes and is similar to the one shown in FIG. 4.

4. Now, use the down arrow to move the highlight bar to the EMPTY text position.
5. Press return; the New Part menu appears with a list of Axcess card types.
6. Use the up/down arrow to scroll through the list and select the first card you want to document.
Press return to select the card.
7. Change the configuration of the card by pressing ctrl-t.
At this point, you can begin to add text (data) in the PIN/COLOR, ACCESSORY, and
EQUIPMENT columns. You can also select an existing LIBRARY file and add it to the card
type information. Be sure the connector type in the LIBRARY file matches the card type
selected. You must select a card type first; then, add the LIBRARY data. Select INSERT from
the F3 menu.
When a Library file is selected, the card type is not included with the file information. You
must overlay a card part type with the library file to include card type information in the final
file. FIG. 5 shows the results of adding a library overlay file to a card type file. You can add any
other data you need at this time.
