5. OPERATION OF THE SEWING MACHINE

5-1. Pedal Operation

The machne trms threads when you fully depress the back part of the pedal. E

When auto-lfter (AK35) s used, -step swtch s ncreased between stop and thread trmmng.
The presser foot goes up when the back part of the pedal s lghtly depressed D , and the presser
foot comes down once when the back part of the pedal s further strongly depressed.
Then the thread trmmer s actuated and the presser foot goes up agan.
If you reset the pedal to ts neutral poston durng the automatc reverse feed sttchng at seam
start, the machne stops after t cornpletes the reverse feed sttchng.
The machne wll perform normal thread trmmng even f you depress the back part of the pedal
mmedately followng hgh or low speed sewng.
The machne wll completely perforrn thread trmmng even f you reset the pedal to ts neutral
poston mmedately after the machne started thread trmmng acton.

(1) The pedal is operated in the following
four steps:
)
The machne runs at low sewng speed when
you lghtly depress the front part of the pedal.

The machne runs at hgh sewng speed when
you further depress the front part of the pedal.

(If the automatc reverse feed sttehng has
been preset, the machne runs at hgh speed
after t completes reverse feed sttchng.)

The machne stops (wth ts needle up or
down) when you reset the pedal tots orgnal
poston. C

When you want to keep the presser foot
n the lfted poston, turn hand lfter 1 n
the drecton of the arrow. By so dong, the
presser foot rse 7 mm.

When you want to lower the presser foot,
lower the hand lfter. Ths wll return the
presser foot to ts predetermnded lower
poston.
3)
Operate the knee lfter, and the presser wll
rse by approxmately 2 mm.
Never perform thread trimming operation
with the presser foot lifted since there is
a case where the wiper comes in contact
with the presser foot and the needle may
be broken when the sewing machine is
operated with the presser foot lifted.
