Test Run

once the assembly is complete, test run your
machine to make sure it runs properly and is
ready for regular operation.
the test run consists of verifying the following:
1) the motor powers up and runs correctly, and
2) the safety disabling mechanism on the switch
works correctly.
if, during the test run, you cannot easily locate
the source of an unusual noise or vibration, stop
using the machine immediately, then review
Troubleshooting on page 20.
To test run the machine:
1.
make sure you understand the safety instruc-
tions at the beginning of the manual and that
the machine is setup properly.
2.
make sure all tools and objects used during
setup are cleared away from the machine.
3.
Connect EACh motor to power (see ciRcuiT
REQuiREMENTS, page 9).
4.
verify that the right motor is operating cor-
recty by flipping up the right paddle switch to
turn the motor ON.
—When operating correctly, the machine
runs smoothly with little or no vibration or
rubbing noises.
— investigate and correct strange or unusual
noises or vibrations before operating the
machine further. Always disconnect the
machine from power before investigating
or correcting potential problems.

5.
turn the right motor OFF.
6.
repeat Steps 4–5 to turn the left motor ON
and OFF.
7.
remove the safety keys (Figure 12).

8.
try to start the machine with the paddle
switches.
—if the machine does not start, the switch
disabling feature is working as designed.
—if the machine starts, immediately stop the
machine. the switch disabling feature is
not working correctly. this safety feature
must work properly before proceeding with
regular operations. Call tech support for
help.
