MAKING A CALL
1) Pick up the handset
2) Dial the number directly
3) Press the # key or wait for 4 seconds to
dial out.
ANSWER/END CALLS
1) When the phone rings, simply lift the
analog phone handset to answer the call.
2) End a call by hanging up the analog
phone handset.
CALL HOLD/RESUME
1) To place a call on hold: Press the
"flash" button on the analog phone.
2) To resume the call on hold: Press the
"flash" button again to release the previ-
ously held Caller and resume conversa-
tion.
Note: If no "flash" button is available, use
"hook flash" (toggle on-off hook quickly).
However, you may drop a call using hook
flash.
CALL WAITING
Call waiting tone (3 short beeps) indicates
an incoming call, if the call waiting feature
is enabled.
1)When there is a call waiting, press the
"flash" button to place the first call on hold
and answer the second call.
2)Press the "flash" button to toggle
between two active calls.
CALL TRANSFER
Assuming that you are already in a call
and wish to transfer the call to another
party.

1) Press the "flash" button on the analog
phone to hear the dial tone.
2) Dial *87 followed by the number of the
person you wish to transfer it to
3) Press # (or wait for 4 seconds)
4) After hearing confirmation tone, the call
is transfered and you may hang up.

TTENDED
RANSfER
1) Press the "flash" button on the analog
phone to place the first call on hold.
2) When you hear a dial tone, dial the
number you wish to transfer to, followed by
the # key(or wait for 4 seconds).
3) Upon confirmation from the party, you
may hang up to complete the transfer.
4) If the party you wish to transfer to does
not answer the call, you can press "flash"
to resume the call placed on hold.
3-WAY CONFERENCE
Assuming that you are already in a
conversation and wish to bring a third
party together in a 3-way conference.
1) Place the first call on hold by pressing
the "flash" button (on the analog phone, or
Hook Flash for old model phones).
2) You will hear a dial tone.
3) Call the third party by dialing their
number followed by # key (or wait for 4
seconds). For HT286/486 you need to dial
*23 followed by the third party's number.
4) After the third party answers the call,
press the "flash" button to bring the two
parties in the conference.
5) If third party does not answer the call,
you can press the "flash" button again to
resume the previous call.
6) If you presses the "flash" button during
conference, the third party will be dropped
out.
Note : If the configuration "Transfer on
Conference Hangup" is set to "No", the
conference will be terminated for all three
parties if the conference initiator hangs up.
If it is set to "Yes", the call will be trans-
ferred so that the remaining two parties
can continue the conversation.
Basic IVR
The HandyTone stores a voice prompt
menu (Interactive Voice Response/IVR) for
quick browsing/simple configuration. This
can be accessed using the analog phone
connected to it.
1) Pick up the handset
2) Press the star key three times (***)
3) You will hear an IVR prompt
4) Dial the numbers below for the options
desired. Dial 9 to toggle between the op-
tions:
01: For IP modes such as DHCP, Static
IP or PPPoE. Press 9 to select the desire
mode and hang up when done.
02 : Hear or set IP address of the device.
If using "Static IP Mode", enter the 12 digit
new IP address.
12: Dial 9 to enable/disable the WAN Port
Web access.
99: Press "9" to reboot the device; or
enter the encoded MAC address to restore
to factory default setting
Please use the following mapping for
the encoded MAC address :
0-9: 0-9
A: 22
B: 222
C: 2222
D: 33
E: 333
F: 3333
For example, if the MAC address is
000b8200e395, it should be encoded
as "0002228200333395".
