SYMPTOMS
Power supply does not turn
on.
Although the power is on,
the VCR does not operate.
Clock does not operate.
Preset cannot be performed.
TV picture does not
appear.
Picture does not appear
on the TV during record-
ing and playback.
! Video recording cannot
be performed.
Poor VCR picture
Timer recording cannot
be performed.
Cassette is ejected soon
after insertion.
Cassette cannot be
inserted.
The remote controller
does not operate.
CAUSE
Power supply cord is not plugged in.
Dew condensed on the head cylinder.
Cassette is not inserted.
A power failure has occurred.
Preset time is not set correctly.
The TV channel is not adjusted cor-
rectly for the VCR.
VCR channel setting is not correct.
The antenna cable is disconnected.
The TV signal is weak.
The VCR power cord is unplugged.
TV/VCR button is not set correctly.
TV channel is not set for the VCR
channel.
A connecting cord is connected to the
video input terminal.
Cassette safety tab is broken.
The VCR channel is not set correctly.
The video tape was recorded on anoth-
er VCR.
Timer preset is not correct.
Cassette is not inserted.
Cassette safety tab is broken.
A power failure occurred.
The safety function that protects the
tape and VCR is activated.
The power switch is off.
Cassette was inserted just after press-
ing the EJECT button and the cassette
was ejected.
The battery is exhausted.
The remote controller faces a wrong

CORRECTIONS
Insert it firmly into the receptacle.
Turn the power switch off and wait
about 2 hours.
Insert a cassette.
Reset the clock.
Set the correct time first.
Adjust the TV fine adjustment knob.
Set the channel correctly. (Ch 3 or Ch 4).
Reconnect.
Adjust the antenna direction or use an
optional antenna booster.
Insert it firmly into the receptacle.
Press the TV/VCR button. (The lamp
lights on.)
Set it to a VCR channel (Ch 3 or Ch 4).
Unplug the connecting cord during TV
program recording.
Use a video cassette with a safety tab
or place cellophane tape over the hole
where the safety tab is broken.
Adjust the TV fine adjustment knob.
Adjust with the tracking knob.
Perform presetting again by referring
to pages 7, 14.
Inserta cassette.
Cover the safety tab hole or use anoth-
er cassette.
If the clock is flashing "su AM 12:00",
this means that a power interruption
occurred.
Remove cassette and reinsert it
correctly.
Turn the power switch on.
Take the cassette out, then insert it
again.
Replace with a new battery.
Within 30 °
Load a cassette.
