Park the machine
so that the drain side is slightly
lower than the opposite
side to assure
the oil drains
completel

Disengage
the blade control
switch and move
the
motion
controls
outward
to the park position.

Stop the engine,
remove
the ke 5 and wait for all
moving
parts
to stop before
leaving
the operating
position.
5.
Clean the area around
the drain plug and on the
machine
flame.
Place a pan underneath
machine
directly
below the drain hole in the flame as shown
in Figure
24.
11. Apply a thin film of clean oil to the rubber
gasket on
the new filter.
12. Install the replacement oil filter to the mounting pad.
Turn the oil filter clockwise until the rubber gasket
contacts the pad, then tighten the filter an additional
2/3 to 1 turn (Figure 25).

6. Remove the oil drain plug (Figure 24). Remove the
oil fill cap/dipstick
(Figure 23).
7. Be sure to allow ample time for complete drainage.
8. Remove the old filter and wipe off the mounting pad
(Figure 24).
9. When oil has drained completely install the oil drain
plug. Tighten the plug to 14 N-m (125 in-lb) torque.
Wipe up aW excess oil on the frame (Figure 24).
Note: Dispose of the used oil at a recycling center.
10. Place the new replacement
filter in a shallow pan
with the open end up. Pour new oil of the proper
type, in through the threaded center hole. Stop
pouring when the oil reaches the bottom of the
threads. Allow a minute or two for the oil to be
absorbed by the filter material

13. Slowly pour approximately 80% of the specified oil
into the filler tube (Figure 23).
14. Install the oil fill cap/dipstick
and push firmly into
place (Figure 23).
15. Check the oil level (Figure 23); refer to Chec_ng
the Oil Level.
16. Slowly add additional oil to bring it to the full mark.
17. Install the oil fill cap/dipstick
and push firmly into
place (Figure 23).
Servicing the Spark Plug
Service Interval:
Every 200 hours--Check
spark plug
condition and gap.
Every 500 hours--Replace
the spark
plug.
The spark plug is RFI compliant.
Equivalent alternate
brand plugs can also be used. Spark plug replacement is
recommended
at 500 hours.

Removing
the Spark Plug
1. Disengage the blade control switch, move the
motion controls outward to the park position, stop
the engine, and remove the ke>
2. Pull the wire off of the spark plug (Figure 26). Clean
around the spark plug to prevent dirt from falling
into the engine and potentially causing damage.
