Nuue uf the functions except cassette
ejection will wurk. Eject the cassette, turn
off yuur camcorder, attd leave it for about
one hour with the cassette lid open. Your
camcorder can be used again when both uf
the following cuuditions are met:
• The warning message does nol appear when lhe
power is turned on.
• Neilher [] or _ flash when a cassette is inserled
and video operation butlons arc louched.
If muisture starts to cuudeuse, yuur
camcorder sometimes cannot detect
condensalion. If this happens, the cassette is
sumetimes not eiected lbr 10 secuuds after
the cassette lid is opened. This is not a
malfunction. Du not close the cassette lid
until the cassette is eiected.
N Note on moisturecondensation
Moisture may condense "_hen yuu bring
yuur camcorder from a culd place into a
warm place (or vice versa) or when you use
your camcorder in a humid place as shown
below.
• When you bring your camcorder hom a ski
slope inlo a place warmed up by
a heating
device.
• When you bring your camcorder from an air
conditioned car or room inlo a hot place outside.
• When you use your camcorder after a squall or a
shower.
• Whell you use your canlcorder ill a hol and
humid place.
N Now to avoid moisturecondensation
When you bring your camcorder lhom a
cold place into a warm place, put your
camcorder in a plastic bag and seal it
tightly. Remove the bag when the air
temperature inside the plastic bag has
reached the surrounding temperature (after
about oue hour).
Videohead
If you play back a tape recoMed in HDV
furmat, the image and sound may freeze lk_r
a while (about (1.5 seconds).
This occurs if the HDV signals cannot be
recorded or played back correctly because
of dirt on the tape or video head. Depending
on the cassette, this fairly inlhequently
occurs even if the cassette is brand new ur
is not used a lot.
If this freezing point is created while
playing back, yuu can solve this prublem
and see the pictures by rewinding alter
slightly forwarding. Such a freezing point
cannot be recovered if it was created while
recording.
To prevent such a problem, use the Suny
mini DV cassette.
• If the lollowing problem occurs, clean lhe video
heads kw 10seconds with tile Sony DVM-
12CLD cleaning cassette (optional).
