Parental Controls and V-Chip
The choices in the PAREt,,_TAL GUIDEmenu involve software inside your TV(referred to _sV-Chip) which
_IIows you to block TVprograms and movies basedon violence, sex, or other content you m_y believe
children should not view.
Once you block progr_ms, you c$inunblock programs by entering _ password.

How V-Chip Works
V-Chip reads the program's _ge-b_sed rating (1%_-MA, _-14, etc.) _nd content themes [(Violence O/J,
Adult Langu_ge {LJ,etc.]], tf you h_weblocked the r_ting and/or content themes theft the progr_m
contains, you will receive _ mess_gethat it is not _w_dlable.
Broadcasters_re not required to provide content themes, so programs received with no content themes
will only be blocked if you block their age-based rath_g. You c_m_dsoblock out progr_ms that h_ve been
given a r_ting of l_ot Rf_ted, a nd progr_ms that _re considered unrented. T he TV_ge-b_sed r_tings _md
