INSTALLING THE WATER LINE
[] CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
REFRIGERATOR
NOTES:
• Before maMng fire connection to the
refrigerator, be sure the refiigerator power
cord is not plugged into the wail oudet_
• If your refrigeratot does not have a water filter;
we recommend installing one if your water' supply
has sand or particles that could clog the screen
of the refrigerator's water valve, Install it in the
water line near' the refrigerator: If using a GE
SmartConnect'" Refiigerator Tubing "kit, you
will need an additional tube (WX08Xt0002)
to connect the filter, Do not cut plastic tube
to install filter°
Some models have the refrigerator connection at
the end of tubing located outside the compressor
compartment access coveL On other models, the
compressm compartment access cover must be
_emoved in ordin to access the _efiigerator
connection at the water' valve.
On models using the refrigeration connection at
the water valve, renmve the plasdc flexible cap.

Place the compression nut and _errute (sleeve)
onto the end of the tubing as shown. On a GE
SmartConnect RefiigeratoI Tnbing kit, the nuts
are already assembled to the tubing_

CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
REFRIGERATOR (CONT.)
Insert the end of the tubing into the refrigerator
connection as Jar as possible. Wlfile holding the
robing, dghten the fitting,
For plastic tubing flora a GE SmartConnect
Refrigerator Tubing kit, insert the molded end of
the tubing into the tefHgeratm connection and
tighten tile compression nut until it is hand tight,
then dghten one additional turn with a wrench.
Overtightening may cause leaks,
Fasten the tubing into the clamp provided as
shown to keep it in position You may need to pry
open tile clamp
One of the illustrations below will hook like the
connection on your refrigerator;
