• Faulty spark plug.
• Dirty fuel filter.
Stale or dirty fuel.
• Water in fuel.
• Spark plugwire loose.
• Dirty engine air screen/fine.
• Dirty/clogged muffler.
• Loose or damaged widng.
• Carburetor out of adjustment.
• Engine valves out of adjust-
ment.
• Worn, bent or loose Made.
• Bent blade mandrel.
• Loose/damaged pad(s),

• Worn, bent or loose blade.
• Mower deck not level.
• Buildup of grass, leaves, _nd

CORRECTION
• Clean and regap or change
spark plug.
• Replace fuel filter.
• Drain fuel tank and refill with
fresh gasoline.
• Drain fuel tank and carburetor,
refill tank with fresh gasoline and
replace fuel filter.
• Connect and tighten spark plug
wire.
• Clean engine air scmon/fins.
• Clean/replace muffler.
• Check all widng.
• See "To Adjust Carburetor" in
Serv_eandAdjustments
section.
• Contact an authorized eervice
center.
• Replace blade. Tighten blade
boll
• Replace blade mandrel.
• Tighten iooea part(s). Replace
damaged parts.
• Check w i_ng, s w_chee andcon-
nections. If not corrected, contact
an authorized service
center/department.
• Replace blade. Tighten blade
boll
• Level mower deck.
• Clean underside of mower hous-
ing.
• Replace blade mandrel.
• Clean around mandrels to open
vent .holes.
• Remove obstruction.
• Replace mowerdrive bell
• Replaceidler pulley,
• Replaceblade mandrel.
• Place throttle control in "FAST"
pomon.
• Shift to slower speed.
• Allow grass to d_J before mow-
ing.
• Level mower deck.
• Check tires for proper air pres-
sure.
• Replace/sharpen blade. Tighten
blade bolt.
