[] CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
REFRIGERATOR
NOTES:
• geti)re making tile connection to tile reti'igerator,
be sure tile refl'igerator power cord is not
I)lugged into tile wall outlet,
• If your
refl'igerator does not have a water filte_,
we reconlnlend installing one if w)ur water sui)ply
has sand or particles that could clog tile screen of
tile refl'igerator's water valve. Install it in tile
water line near tile refl'igerator. If using a GE
SmartConnect '_ I).efrigerator Tubing kit, you
will need an additional tube (WXOSX10009)
to connect tile filter. Do not cut plastic tube
to install filter.
Some models have tile refl'igerator connection at
tile end of tubing located outside tile compressor
compartment access cover. On other models, tile

removed in order to access the refrigerator
connection at tile watei" wllve.
On models using tile refrigeration connection at
tile water xalxe, remoxe tile plastic flexible cap.

Place tile compression nut and ferr/fle (sleeve)
onto the end of the tubing as shown. On a GE
Smarteonnect Refl'igerator Tubing kit, tile nuts
are ah'eadv assembled to tile tubing.

CONNECT THE TUBING TO THE
REFRIGERATOR (CONT.)
Insert tile end of tile tubing into tile reli'igerator
connection as far as possible. While holding tile
tubing, tighten tile fitting.
For plastic tubing fl'om a GE SmartConnect
Refl'igerator Tubing kit, insert the molded end of
tile tubing into tile refl'igerator connection and
tighten the compression nut until it is hand tight,
then tighten one additional turn with a wrench.
Overtightening may cause leaks.
Fasten the tubing into the clamp provided as
shown to kee I) it in position. You may need to pry
open tile clamp.
One of the illustrations bdow will look like the
com_ection on your refrigerator.

[] TURN THE WATER ON AT THE
SHUTOFF VALVE
Tighten any connections that leak.
Reattach tile access cover.
