Connect the Range to the Electrical Supply
Skip to Step 5 if the power cord shipped on the range does not match your wall
receptacle.
Using an Existing NEMA 14-50R Receptacle
Plug the range power cord into a properly
grounded
wall receptacle,
Skip to Step 6 if
the range power cord matches
the wall
receptacle,
NOTE: Yourrange is shipped with a 4-prongplug to be
used in a NEMA 14-50Rreceptacle. Should you choose
to changeyour plug, use only a 3-wke power cord,
3-wke conduit or 4-wke condui_ Follow the appropriate
instructions below, in Step 5, for your application.
Effective January I, 1996,the National Electric Code
requires that new construction (not existing) utilize
a 4-conductor connection to an electric range.
A range cord rated at 40 amps with 195/250
minimum
volt range
is required.
A 50-amp
range cord is not recommended
but if used,
it should
be marked
