_k WARNING!
DO NOT at any time allow brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating
oils, etc. to come in contact with plastic parts.
They contain chemicals
that can damage, weaken,
or destroy plastic.
o Before cleaning or performing
any maintenance,
make sure that the belt sander
has been disconnected
from the power supply.
o Keep all ventilation openings clean.
o When servicing a too!, use only identical replacement
parts. Follow instructions
in the maintenance
section of this manual. Use of unauthorized
parts or failure
to follow maintenance
instructions
may create a risk of electrical shock and/or
serious personnel injury.
o All service that requires opening the belt sander MUST be performed
only by a
Sears Service Center. All motor parts constitute
important parts of the double-
insulation system and MUST only be serviced by a Sears Service Center. Ser-
vice performed
by unqualified
personnel could result in a risk of inju_.
e Avoid using solvents
when cleaning
plastic
parts. Most plastics
can be
damaged
by commercial
solvents.
Use clean cloths to remove
dirt, carbon
dust, etc.
