improperly
sharpened,

depth gauges too
high.

worn.
TROUBLE

Chain stops
within the cut.
Oil inadequate
for bar and
chain
lubrication.
Chain cuts at
an angle.
• Chain cutter tops
not filed flat.
• Guide bar burred
or bent; rails
uneven.
• Oil tank empty.
• Oil outlet clogged.
• Guide bar oil hole
blocked.
• Cutters damaged
on one side.
• Chain dull on one
side.
• Guide bar bent or
worn.
