• Using viewfinder
When using the viewfinder to take pictures, press DISP/
BACK to turn the LCD monitor off. Turning the LCD
monitor off conserves battery power.
Viewfinder
Frame the shot so that the subject fills the center of the
viewfinder, When taking a picture at a distance of 1 m to
2 m (3.3 ft. to 6,6 ft,) using the viewfinder, only the shaded
area in the figure is photographed,

Using the viewfinder allows
for a steady arm position,
preventing picture blur.
• Viewfinder lamp display
The viewfinder lamp lights or blinks when turning on the
camera or pressing the shutter button. The viewfinder
lamp shows camera status.

Blinking green AF/AE in progress, camera shake
warning, or AF warning (ready to
shoot)
Blinking green and Recording to xD-Picture Card or
orange alternately internal memory (ready to shoot)

internal memory (not ready)
Blinking orange Charging flash (flash will not fire)
Blinking red Warnings for xD-Picture Card and
internal memory
Card not formatted, incorrect format,
memory full, xD-Picture Card or
internal memory error
Lens operation error
