Check these conditionsbefore adjust-
ing the carburetor.
The carburetor has been carefully set at
the factory.Adjustments may be neces-
cary if you not[caany of the following
conditions:
• Chain moves at Idle. See "Idle Speed"
underadjusting procedure.
• Sawwillnotidle.See "IdleSpeed"
and "LowSpeedMixture'under a d-
lusting procadum,
• Engine dies or hesitates when it
should accalerate. See "Acceleration
Check" under adjusting procedure.
• Loss of cuttingpower. See "High
Speed Mixture H" under adjusting
procedure.
There are three adjus_tmant s crews on
the carburetor. They are labeled H, L,
and T. They are located in the area just
above the pdmer bulb.
CARBURETOR
PRESETS
When making adjustments, do not force
the plastic Umiter caps beyond the
stops or damage will occur.

proceed to "Idle Speed-T."

DO NOT operate engine at full throttle
for prolonged pedods while making ad-
justments. Damage to the engine can

just the high speed mixture setting in
I/I 6-turn incrementsas follows:

• Counterclockwiseif the saw has
speed, but dies In the cut or lacks
power in the cut.
After completingadjustments, check for
acceleration and chain movement at
idle. Reset if necessary.
Acceleration Check
If the enginedies or hesitatesinsteadof
