Controlled Cameras
In extremely rare instances, unusual characters may appear in the monitor and the
camera may stop functioning, in most cases, this phenomenon
is caused by a
strong external static: charge. Turn tile camera off, remove and replace tile battery,
then turn tile camera on again. In tile event of continued malfunction, contact
your retailer or Nikon-authorized service representative. Note that disconnecting
tile power source as described above may result in tile loss of any data not
recorded to internal memory or the memory card at the time the problem
occurred. Data already recorded will not Be affected.
Shooting

No picture taken when shutter-
release button
is pressed.
Camera cannot focus.
Pictures are blurred.
Bright specks appear in pictures
taken with flash.
Flash does not fire.
Optical zoom cannot be used.
When camera is in playback mode, press I_.
When menus are displayed, press MENU
Battery exhausted.
When flash lamp blinks, flash is charging.
The intended subject is one with which
autofocus does not perform wall.
Set AF assist in the setup menu to Auto.
Focus error.Turn
camera offand then on
again.
Use flash.
Use high sensitivity mode.
Use vibration reduction
and motion detection.
Use BSS (Best Shot Selector).
Use tripod and self-timer.
Flash is reflecting off particles in air. Lower the
built-in flash or set flash mode to _) (Off).
The built-in flash is lowered, or flash mode is
set to (_) (Off).
Some scene modes that cannot turn on flash
are selected.
Sport continuous
mode is selected.
NJ_mode is selected.
Continuous
or Multi-shot
16 or BSS is
selected for Continuous
in shooting
menu.
Optical zoom cannot be used while recording
movies.
