The f ocus area orfocus range for a djusting
focus varies depending
onthe
shooting mode and focus mode (_62).
• In
P, S, A, M, U or special effects mode, focus area (:an be set by selecting AF
area mode (_69)
in the shooting menu.
Using
the Target
Finding
AF
When AF area mode in P, S A, M or U mode is set to Target finding AE tile
camera will adjust the focus during tile following operations if you press tile
shutter-release button halfway.
• When the camera detects the main subject, it
focuses on that subject. When the subject is in focus,
the focus areas that match up with the size of the
subject will light in green (multiple areas may light
up).
When detecting a human face, the camera focuses
on it as a priority.
• The camera has 9 focus areas, and if it does not
detect the main subject, it automatically selects the
focus areas containing the subject closest to the
camera. When the subject is in focus, the focus areas
that are in focus light in green.

to the camera
out of 9 focus areas;
When Picture
Control
is set to Monochrome
When White
balance
is set to Preset
manual,
Incandescent,
Fluorescent,
or when fine
adjustment
of white
balance
has been performed
