4. Repeat step 3 for all arrays.
5. Secure the Fibre Channel cables installed in this procedure, and the Ethernet cables installed in
the previous procedure together with Velcro ties. Route them to the right side of the rack.

Management Ports and External Connections

Connect the management ports of Ethernet Switch 2810 24G and Ethernet Switch 2510 24:
1. Locate a 1 meter Ethernet cable.
2. Connect port 24 of Ethernet Switch 2810 24G to port 24 of Ethernet Switch 2510 24.
3. Secure the excess cable to the right side of the rack.
External connections:
NOTE:
Ethernet port 1 (NIC 1), and Fibre Channel ports 1 and 2 on the primary node are only to be used
for external connections.
On the nodes:
1. Connect one end of a Fibre Channel cable to Fibre Channel port 1 on the node. Connect the
other end to the external network.
2. Connect one end of a Fibre Channel cable to Fibre Channel port 2 on the node. Connect the
other end to the external network.
3. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to NIC 1 on the primary node. Connect the other end to
the external network.
If your configuration contains one connectivity kit, the VLS9000 hardware installation is complete.
Continue installation by configuring the identities of each node and array. See the HP StorageWorks
