Move Choke Control to =FULL° position (see equip-
ment manufacturer's instructions).See Figure 10.

Use equipment according to instructionslisted in the
table and notes below. See Table 4. See Figure 11.

NOTES
DO NO T use prtmer to restart a warm engine after a short
shutdown. Doing so will flood the engine and may result in
equipment malfunction.
DO NOT operate an electric starter form.re than 5 seconds
each attempt.

Push starter button or tum ignitionswitch key (see
equipment manufacturer's instructions)to start engine.
NOTE
ff engine fails to start after 3 attempts repeat steps 5 thru 6.
7. When engine starts:
a. Release starter button or ignition switch key.
b. Move Choke Control to "1/2 CHOKE" position until
engine runs smoothly.
c. Next, move Choke Control to =NO CHOKE" position.
See Figure 10.
NOTES
If engine starts but falters when choke is moved to =NO
CHOKE" position:

a. Momentarily move Choke Control back to =FULL
CHOKE" position.
b. Next, move Choke Control to "1/2 CHOKE" position
until engine runs smoothly.
c. Finally, move Choke Control to "NO CHOKE"
position. See Figure 10.
If engine dies after Choke Control is moved to =NO
CHOKE" positionrepeat steps 5 thru 7 to restart
engine.
If engine fires but does not continue to run, move
Choke Control to "NO CHOKE" position and start
engine.
10. If engine fails to start after 3 attempts in the
"NO CHOKE" position,move Choke Control to
"FULL CHOKE" position and start engine.
1. No Choke
2. 1/2 Choke
3. Full Choke

NOTE
When disconnecting power cord, always disconnect power
cord from outlet first; then disconnect switch box on engine.
See Figure 9.
11. Disconnectpower cord from outlet. See Figure 9.
12. Disconnectswitch box on engine. See Figure 9.
13. If engine does not start after following steps 1 thru 11,
contact your Authorized Tecumseh Servicing Dealer.
14. DO NOT attempt to start or troubleshoot this engine in
any other way.
