Press DVD SETUP in stop mode.
The Setup Display appears.
Note
When a JPEG disc is in the system,the Setup
Display does not appear.
2 Press _!- or -I_ repeatedly to select
"AV", then press ENTER.
3 Press t or I, repeatedly to select an
item, then press ENTER.

Press t_' or I" repeatedly to select a
setting, then press ENTER.
5 Press DVD SETUP to turn off the Setup
Display.
• TV Type
Select the aspect ratio of tile connected TV.
Tile default setting varies, depending on the
country model.
4:3 Pan Scan Select this when you connect a 4:3
screen TV. This setting displays the
wide picture on the entire screen and
cuts off the portions that do not fit.
4:3 Letter Select this when you connect a 4:3
Box screen TV. This setting displays a wide
picture with bands displayed on the
upper and lower
portions
of tile screen.
16:9 Select this when you connect a wide-
screen TV or a TV with a wide mode
fimction.
• 4:3 Pall Scan
Note
Depending on the DVD, "4:3 Letter Box may be
selected automatically instead of "4:3 Pan Scan"
or vice versa.

• Dolby Digital
Set the Dolby Digital settings to enjoy 5.1
channel sound when an optional amplifier is
connected (see "Enjoying tile 5.1 channel sound
with the optional amplifier" on page 38).
• DTS
Set the DTS settings to enjoy 5.1 chmmel sound
when an optional amplifier is connected (see
"Enjoying the 5.1 channel sound with the
optional amplifier" on page 38).
