Neverstore lawnmowerwith fuel in tank indoorsor in poorly
ventilatedareaswherefuel fumesmay reachan open flame,spark,
or pilot lightas on a furnace,water heater,clothesdryer,or gas
appliance.
PREPARING
THE ENGINE
Engineto be storedover30 days shouldbe completelydrainedof fuel
(gasoline)to preventgumdepositsformingon essential c arburetor
_arts and fuel system.
Gasolineis extremelyflammableand can be explosiveundercertain
conditions.Draingasolinebeforestoringthe equipment f or extended
)eriods.Draingasolinein a well-ventilated area awayfromany
;ourceof flame or sparks, includingany applianceswith a pilotlight.
Storegasolinein an approvedcontainerin safe location.
1.
Removethe spark plugcap fromspark plug to preventaccidental
startingthe engine.
2.
Emptythe fuelfrom the fueltank with a pumpor siphon.
3.
Fit the plugcap on the spark plug securely
4.
Startand run theengine at idle speedto usedup the fuel in the
fuel system.
Beforemaintaining engine,stop the engineand allowit cool.

Removethe spark plugand pour approx.1-2 mL(0.06-0.1cu.in)
of newengineoil throughthe plug hole.Slowlypull the recoil
startergrip severaltimesand reinstallthespark plug.
6.
Slowlypull the recoilstartergrip untilyoufeel compression and
leaveit there.
7.
Cleanevery partof the engine.
8.
After periodof storage,changeengineoil. (Referto "OilChange"
sectionin "MAINTENANCE" section).
l Gasolineis a toxicsubstance.Disposeof gasolineproperly.Contact
yourlocal authoritiesfor approveddisposal methods.
