TO INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERIES
Your new lantern operates on 8 "D" cell batteries. For longest life, use
alkaline batteries.
CAUTION: DO NOT MIX OLD AND NEW BATTERIES. DO NOT MIX ALKALINE,
STANDARD (CARBON-ZINC), OR RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES. RESULT COULD
LEAD TO OVER-HEATED CIRCUIT AND DAMAGE TO LANTERN.
1. With lantern off, turn upside down and unscrew base
by rotating counterclockwise.
2. Install 8 batteries in the correct orientation as shown
on the battery housing. Always be careful that all 8
batteries are installed correctly. (Fig. 1.)
3. Replace base by screwing clockwise until hand tight.
Check that base is securely installed in closed
position.

SURCHAUFFER LE CIRCUIT ET D'ENTRAÎNER L'ENDOMMAGEMENT
DE LA LANTERNE.
1. Mettez la lanterne éteinte sens dessus dessous et dévissez la base en la
tournant en sens antihoraire.
2. Placez les 8 piles tel qu'illustré, en les orientant exactement tel qu'indiqué
dans le logement de piles. Vérifiez toujours que les 8 piles soient
correctement placées. (Fig. 1.)
3. Replacez la base en la vissant en sens horaire, à la main. Assurez-vous
qu'elle soit bien vissée et fermée.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
1. Operating time for this lantern depends on whether it is run continuously or
intermittently. Intermittent operation extends the run time of a set of batteries.
On a new set of alkaline batteries, approximate run time of up to 66 hours
on low and 32 hours on high.
2. The LED is a lifetime light source. It will never need to be replaced.
3. Do not leave discharged batteries in the lantern for an extended period of time
as this could permanently damage the lantern.
4. To clean the outside of the lantern and globe, use only a damp cloth and mild
dishwashing liquid. Avoid excessive water and strong cleaner which can
damage lantern.

l'autonomie. L'autonomie de piles alcalines neuves est d'environ 66 heures à

2. La luminodiode (DEL) est une source lumineuse qui dure à vie. Elle n'a jamais

besoin d'être remplacée.
3. Ne laissez pas de piles épuisées dans la lanterne pendant de longues durées,
vous risqueriez d'endommager irrémédiablement la lanterne.
4. N'utilisez qu'un linge humide et du détergent à vaisselle doux pour nettoyer
l'extérieur et le globe de la lanterne. Une quantité excessive d'eau et un produit
abrasif risqueraient d'endommager la lanterne.
