LINDY Dual/Quad PRO products are fitted with one (2) or two (4) dual access user ports. These dual access ports have both traditional KVM connectors for local keyboard, monitor and mouse connections and an RJ45 link for connection to a remote LINDY extender unit.
Configurable security enables administrator to assign access rights to users. Dual-access port(s) with built-in 200 metre LINDY extender connections enable the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO to be controlled from local and remote KVM consoles. Two independent users are supported on 2 models via one local KVM port and one dual-access local / remote KVM port.

All LINDY PS/2 Mice and PS/2 style two or three button Microsoft or Logitech compatible mouse or a Microsoft IntelliMouse compatible mouse. If you wish to use the mouse to switch the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO's channel then you will need a three button mouse or an IntelliMouse.
The LINDY Dual/Quad PRO has been designed to be used either on a desktop or mounted in a 19 inch rack. If the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO is to be used on a desktop then you will need to stick the supplied self-adhesive rubber feet to the underside of the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO.
A. If you have an existing 6-pin mini-DIN to 9-pin serial adapter that came with a mouse it may not be suitable for use with the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO as the are several different standard wiring configurations for these adapters.
Refer to the list of supported drivers in section 2.1. 2.5 Structuring your LINDY Dual/Quad PRO installation A single LINDY Dual/Quad PRO 16 may be used to manage and control up to 16 computers (see figure 5). For larger numbers of computers, Dual/Quad PRO units may be cascaded in a tree structure to form a video switching network (see figure 6).
Page 19
If you are making multiple cascade links between LINDY Dual/Quad PRO then ensure that the cables are approximately the same length. LINDY Dual/Quad PRO devices may be cascaded to cascades but the Pro units must always be on the lowest level of the cascade (in other words you must not cascade an device off a Pro device) LINDY Dual/Quad PRO 4, 8, 12 and 16 models may be cascaded together.

Use the shortest possible video cables between your devices. High quality two metre long cables such as the LINDY 3-in-1 combination cable will give excellent results. Avoid using cables with 15-pin D-type connectors that are not specifically designed to carry video signals - you will see a picture but the quality will be truly appalling with smudging, ghosting and loss of focus.
It is necessary for the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO to be attached and powered on during this sequence so that it can give the required responses and keep track of all the modes and settings requested by each of the connected PCs.
2.9 Hot plugging the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO into running systems and re-enabling disconnected CPU PS/2 mouse connections It is advisable to switch off the systems that are going to be connected to the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO before installation. However if this is not possible then most systems can be hot plugged by using the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO’s mouse...

It may also be accessed by using the keyboard 'hotkeys' (see section 4.8) or by using the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO's front panel keys (see section 4.6). The following steps summarise a typical configuration process.
Each computer has an associated 8 digit port number which defines its location. If you are using a single LINDY Dual/Quad PRO then all the computers will have two digit port numbers (01 to 16). If you are cascading LINDY Dual/Quad PRO’s then each computer will have a four, six or eight digit port number depending on the number of cascade levels that have been connected (see section 4.10 for details).
Press ESC to quit from the menu. 3.3 Setting an ADMIN password The LINDY Dual/Quad PRO supports up to 16 user profiles. The administrator of the system can grant or deny users access to any of the connected computers and has complete control over the setup of the system.
Each computer name that you define will have an associated port number. This is the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO port that the computer is attached to. If all of your computers are connected to a single LINDY Dual/Quad PRO then all the port numbers will be two characters long (for example: 01, 02, 03, 16 etc.).
Page 31
Creating entries for computers connected to cascaded LINDY Dual/Quad PRO’s You can cascade LINDY Dual/Quad PRO 4 units using one, two, three or four KVM links and LINDY Dual/Quad PRO 2 units using one or two KVM links. Section 2.5 explains the rules that you must follow when installing a LINDY Dual/Quad PRO cascade.
Page 32
For example, group port number 21 comprises of ports 1 and 2. If these ports are linked to a cascaded LINDY Dual/Quad PRO and users try to connect to computers that are attached to the cascaded LINDY Dual/Quad PRO, the system will allocate the cascade links to the first two users on a first come first served basis.

With security disabled there is no requirement for users to login to the system. All users have full access to all the connected computers and full administration rights. With security enabled, users are required to login to the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO. Each user is allocated access rights to computers by the system administrator and they are only able to see the computers that they have access to on their on-screen menu.

When mouse switching is enabled the central mouse button or wheel mouse button is allocated to control the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO and is not therefore available for use by computer applications. If you want to use the central mouse button within your applications you will need to disable mouse switching.

COMPUTER display to change to the next available computer port in numerical sequence. The next available computer port is defined by the way that the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO is configured. There are two special computer ports that may be selected using the COMPUTER key switch.
4.5 Activity indicators The LINDY Dual/Quad PRO has a front panel activity indicator for each user port (see figure 1). The indicator will flash when keyboard or mouse data is received by the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO. These indicators provide a useful confirmation that the keyboards and mice connected to the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO are functioning normally.
If password security has been set on the system then the following login menu will appear when the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO is switched on or when no user is currently logged in. The previous user may have activated the screen save function (screen blanking).

4.15 Using the dual access ports (1 and 3) The LINDY Dual/Quad PRO 2 is fitted with one dual access port and the LINDY Dual/Quad PRO 4 is fitted with two dual access ports. These dual access ports have connectors that enable a local KVM (Keyboard, Video monitor and Mouse) to be attached and a connector that enables a remote LINDY Extender or LINDY Pro Extender to be attached.
To do this you can use a hotkey sequence similar to the example shown below. For example to connect to port 14 on a LINDY Dual/Quad PRO 4 that is cascaded off port 1 of your first LINDY Dual/Quad PRO . Although the following example...
