Checkpoint
Cause
Dismount the ribbon
cartridge, rotate its
knob manually, and
check whether the
ribbon feeds
normally.
Check whether the
ribbon driving gear
rotates when the
carriage is moved
Move the carriage
manually, and check
whether the planetary
lever turns in reverse
and engages the
gear.
Check whether the
ribbon mask .S in the
correct position.
Set the gap adjust
lever to the second
position, and check
the gap between the
tip of the printhead
and the platen.
The appropriate
value is 0.46 mm.
Check the paper-end
sensor switch.

Replace the
ribbon cartridge.
Remove any
foreign substance.
Replace the .

Reinstall the
