The power button controls the power supply output to the system.

LCD panel Displays system ID, status information, and system error messages. The LCD lights blue during normal system operation. The LCD lights amber when the system needs attention, and the LCD panel displays an error code followed by descriptive text.
  • Page 11 Item Indicator, Button, or Icon Description Connector System identification button The identification buttons on the front and back panels can be used to locate a particular system within a rack. When one of these buttons is pressed, the LCD panel on the front and the system status indicator on the back flashes until one of the buttons is pressed again.

The power button controls the power supply output to the system. NOTE: On ACPI-compliant operating systems, turning off the system using the power button causes the system to perform a graceful shutdown before power to the system is turned off.

    • The LCD backlight is off when the system is in standby mode and can be turned on by pressing either the Select, Left, or Right button on the LCD panel. • The LCD backlight remains off if LCD messaging is turned off through the iDRAC utility, the LCD panel, or other tools.

    Enters the System Setup. <F10> Enters System Services, which opens the Dell Lifecycle Controller 2 (LC2). The Dell LC2 supports systems management features such as operating system deployment, hardware diagnostics, platform updates, and platform configuration, using a graphical user interface. The exact LC2 feature set is determined by the iDRAC license purchased.

    NOTE: Operating systems must be UEFI-compatible to be installed from the UEFI boot mode. DOS and 32-bit operating systems do not support UEFI and can only be installed from the BIOS boot mode.     Menu Item Description Virtualization Technology Allows you to enable or disable the additional hardware capabilities provided for virtualization. By default, the Virtualization Technology option is set to Enabled. Adjacent Cache Line Allows you to optimize the system for applications that require high utilization of sequential Prefetch memory access.

    Menu Item Description Port D Auto enables BIOS support for the device attached to SATA port D. By default, Port D is set to Auto. Port E Auto enables BIOS support for the device attached to SATA port E. By default, Port E is set to Auto. NOTE: Ports A, B, C, and D are used for the backplane drives, and port E for the optical drive (CD/DVD).

    Menu Item Description Internal SD Card Enables or disables the system’s internal SD card port. By default, Internal SD Card Port option Port is set to On.     Miscellaneous Settings Menu Item Description System Time Allows you to set the time on the system. System Date Allows you to set the date on the system.     To enter System Setup, press <F2> immediately after a power-on or reboot. In the System Setup Main Menu, select System BIOS and press <Enter>. The System BIOS screen is displayed. In the System BIOS screen, select System Security and press <Enter>. The System Security screen is displayed.

If an incorrect system password is entered, the system displays a message and prompts you to re-enter your password.
