Desktop Board Features Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Support The Desktop Board supports up to 12 USB 2.0 ports (six ports routed to the back panel and six ports routed to three internal headers) via ICH10. USB 2.0 ports are backward compatible with USB 1.1 devices. USB 1.1 devices will function normally at USB 1.1 speeds.

One device can be installed on each port for a maximum of four SATA devices. A point-to-point interface is used for host to device connections, unlike PATA which supports a master/slave configuration and two devices on each channel.
