This document updates the power supply replacement procedure described in the

Installation and Troubleshooting Guides for the PowerEdge 6300 and 4300 systems.

The new power supply uses an improved method of engaging and disengaging the

power supply into or out of the system chassis.

The following procedure assumes that you have already removed the existing power

supply from your chassis. See your Installation and Troubleshooting Guide for instruc-

tions on how to remove the existing power supply.

To insert the new power supply, perform the following steps:

With the power supply handle in the open position, slide the power supply into

the chassis to the point where the power supply initially stops (see Figure 1).

As you rotate the handle, pivot levers on the handle hinge engage into slots in the chassis and push the power supply into the chassis.
