CHUTE
ASSEMBLY
Rotatethe dischargechute to the left or rightusingthe chute handle.
Thepitch of the dischargechute controlsthe angleat which the snow
is thrown.Loosenthewing knobon the side of the dischargechute
beforepivotingthe dischargechute upwardor downward.Retighten
the knoboncethe desiredpositionhasbeen achieved.
SHAVE PLATE
Theshaveplate maintainscontactwith the pavementas the snow
throweris propelled,allowingsnowclose tothe pavement'ssurfaceto
be discharged.

plug wireto the spark plug beforestarting.

Insertthe key intothe slot. See Figure7.Do not attemptto turn

Pushin the primerbuttonfive to seven(5-7) times,makingsureto
coverthe vent hole whenpushing.

NOTE:Alwayscoverthe vent hole in the primerbuttonwhenpushing.
Additionalprimingmaybe necessaryfor the firststart if the tempera-
ture is below 15 ° E

Graspthe starterhandleand pull the rope out slowly,until it pulls
slightlyharder.Letthe rope rewindslowly.
7.
Pullthe starterhandlerapidly.Do notallowthe handleto snap
back.Allowit to rewindslowlywhilekeepinga firm hold on the
handle.
8.
As the enginewarmsup and beginsto operateevenly,slidethe
choke leverslowlyto the 1/2-chokeposition(mid-waybetween
RUNand OFF).Whenthe enginebeginsto run smoothly,move

the choketo the RUN_ _position.If the enginefails, returnto
the CHOKEI_1 position,then slowlymoveto 1/2-chokethenthe
RUNI _ i position.
STOPPING
THE ENGINE
1.
Runthe enginefor a few minutesbeforestoppingto helpdry
CHOKEany moistureon theengine.
2.
To stopthe engine removethe keyand storeit in a safe place.
3.
Wipeall the snowand moistureawayfrom the enginecontrols
area.
Muffler,engineand surroundingareasbecomehotand can causea
burn. Be carefuland do not touchwhenthe,/are hot.
ENGAGING
THE AUGERS
Engagethe augerby squeezingtheauger controlagainstthe upper
handle.Releasethe controlto stop the auger.
ENGAGING
THE DRIVE
Lift up slightlyon the handleto allowthe rubberpaddleson the auger
to contactthe pavementand propelthe snowthrowerforward.Pushing
downwardon the handlewill raisethe augersCHOKEthe groundand
stopthe forwardmotion.
NOTE:Excessiveupwardpressureon the handlewill resultin
premature wearto the rubberauger paddles,which is not coveredby
the warranty.
CLEARING
A CLOGGED
DISCHARGE
CHUTE
Handcontactwith the rotatingimpellerinsidethe dischargechute
isthe mostcommoncause of injuryassociatedwith snowthrowers.
Neveruseyourhand to cleanoutthe dischargechute.
Toclear thechute:
1.
SHUTTHE ENGINEOFF!
2.
Wait 10secondsto be surethe impellerbladeshavestopped
rotating.
3.
Alwaysusea clean-outtool, not yourhands.
