Section 4. NORMAL PROCEDURES

Refer to the Cockpit Reference Guide defined in Section 2.1 of this document or
the Pilot's Guide defined in Section 7.1 for normal operating procedures and a
complete list of system messages and associated pilot actions. This includes all
GPS operations, VHF communication and navigation, traffic, data linked weather,
®
StormScope
, TAWS, and Multi-Function Display information.
The GTN requires a reasonable degree of familiarity to prevent operations
without becoming too engrossed at the expense of basic instrument flying in IMC
and basic see-and-avoid in VMC. Garmin provides training tools with the Pilot's
Guide and PC based simulator. Pilots should take full advantage of these training
tools to enhance system familiarization.
