    Central Processing Unit (CPU) 2.3.1 Overview The motherboard comes with a surface mount 939-pin Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket designed for the AMD Athlon™ 64FX or AMD Athlon 64™ processor.     2.3.3 Installing the heatsink and fan The AMD Athlon™ 64FX or AMD Athlon 64™ processor require a specially designed heatsink and fan assembly to ensure optimum thermal condition and performance. Make sure that you use only qualified heatsink and fan assembly. Follow these steps to install the CPU heatsink and fan.

    2.3.4 Connecting the CPU fan cable When the heatsink and fan assembly is in place, connect the CPU fan cable to the connector on the motherboard labeled CPU_FAN. CPU Fan Connector (CPU_FAN) Do not forget to connect the CPU fan connector! CPU overheating and hardware monitoring errors may occur if you fail to plug this connector.
