Occasionally, a Plus Screen picture (1.3-inch expanded view) will not fill the entire screen.
Instead, vertical-black bands will appear on the left and right edges of the screen. This is
caused by a loss of video information during re-transmission from the TV station (or
through the cable TV system). These black bands are not a defect of the TV.
If this occurs, either (1) press the "Plus" button on the remote control and change to the
normal mode or, (2) wait until an incoming program is shown, i.e., one compatible with
the widescreen format. A Pre-recorded video source, such as videotape, laserdisc or DVD is
less susceptible to transmission loss, and will usually display the extra width with no prob-
lem.

Changing the Screen Size
(For models CL-765DW/CL-766DW)
The new Plus mode increases the width of the conventional picture by
about 1.3 inches. This mode reveals picture information that is "hidden"
by the normal format.

Press MENU to display
the menu.
Press VOL + to select
the "Picture" menu.

Press CH M twice to
select "Size."

Press VOL + or VOL -
repeatedly to select
"Plus", "Normal",
"Zoom" or "Wide".
Press MENU twice to
exit.
Plus screen: Shows about 1.3 inches of additional picture. The aspect ratio of the view-
able image is 12.8:9.
Normal : Sets the picture to 4:3 normal mode. This is a standard TV screen size.
Zoom : Magnifies the size of the picture on screen.
Wide : Sets the picture to 16:9 wide mode.
