Connecting multiple UM-3EX units

If you're using Windows XP or Mac OS X, you can simultaneously connect up to three UM-3EX units
via USB to a single computer. Depending on your system, the second or subsequent unit may not be
usable depending on the limitations imposed by the CPU processing speed, hard disk, memory, and
the performance of your software.
* Connection of multiple units is supported only in Windows XP and Mac OS X.
UNIT number
If you're connecting multiple UM-3EX units, you must set each unit's UNIT number select switch
appropriately. Set each UM-3EX to a different UNIT number.
The UNIT number is shown as "1:" or "2:" etc. at the beginning of the MIDI device name.
The value of the "1:" or "2:" indication will depend on the setting of the UNIT number select switch.
Install the driver as described in "Installing the Driver" (p. 43).
The separately available RAF-70 rack mount adaptor lets you mount up to three units side by
side in a EIA-1U rack.
